It's interesting how the different places I've lived in and visited reflect a certain vibe or energy. As a visitor. I can pick up on it at first, but after a little while, I begin to unconciously reflect that same vibe. I have to make an effort to be aware of it and detach somewhat and not get swallowed up by it. Best for me is to find that middle ground.
This is beautiful, Michael. Your friendliness radiates even in digital space. When I sit down to write I have your exuberant Enlightened spirit with me.
Thanks so much Kathleen!! But I'm an old bum. Really. Nothing more. Enlightenment is still a distant light I shuffle toward. Your courage and commitment, wisdom and high aspirations, are the true examples we all should aspire to. At least in this old bum's opinion. 🙂
Hello Michael, you are really knocking out the posts, so far I have only read this one. I will look around, but won't be able to keep up with you.
People lean on a scripture and say the Lord delivered eternal truths. I have come to think that morals and ethics are relative to your time, your culture, and to the stereo-type of behavior that you were raised in. Now with more and more intertwined cultures, I can't know what someone else's encapsulated wisdom is. I can be open to find out, but I mustn't assume that it will be open friendliness, right out of the box, like mine might be. There are even those that are convinced they must do a token, random, atrocity to honor the downtrodden! Then there is no talking them out of it with a smile.
I will say this; just Yesterday I had to wait in a government office for some paperwork, and with the others waiting, I had 5 of the most marvelous encounters and conversations I've had for months. And none of them were raised in my country. So cosmopolitanism does work.
Thank you! Cosmopolitanism does work, both externally in the social world and in the privacy of ones own thought world as you ably demonstrate. It breaks down walls, doesn't it? Lets the light in.🙂
Thats a great quote B2! Thank you!

In media salus as the Latin would express it-. It is safest in the middle.

Anyhow: lots of big subjects, like what is love?
Cheers
